Julian Assange grew up in an Australian cult called "The Family"?

Everything about Assange and The Family cult on youtube seems to be sensationalized- I'm curious about the entire story, but I'm really interested in the most stripped down version of it. I'm not asking about The Family and their ties to mk ultra or monarch or satanic rituals. I think the story is insane enough without the accoutrements to distract from the bones of of this story. Just how did Assange become a child of this peroxide blonde Australian cult led by Anne Hamilton-Byrne?

Which parts are true? How did he become a child of a cult and how did he escape. Did he escape? How did he become aware of the secrets he held?
