Please feel free to dumb it down as I'm a Linguist and not an Astrophysicist. My understanding of it, is it uses electricity to make microwaves. It basically works like a microwave oven. The magnetron produces microwave photons that are bounced off the opposite side of a metal cone and this produces thrust. Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars. I'd like to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa did. Not screaming in terror like the people in the back seat of the car he was driving. |

Does he want to be a president who the population loves or hates, does he even care? If he wants to use history as a guide why not select some of our more humane aspects for instance. Trump can surprise us all and include a mandate to reach for the stars, send a human expedition to mars and safety back and in the process establish technology transfers which spinoff new sustainable technologies which lower total carbon emissions below 400ppm Look at whats happening Wikipedia entry: [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] |

Also, meaning it would probably take weeks or longer to get to maximum velocity. Slowing down would take just about as long, since the weight will decrease only slightly. Ten weeks to Mars my ass! . Theoretically it could reach close to the speed of light. You could use gravity from the planets to speed it up and slow it down as well. Quoting: Marax [link to www.dailymail.co.uk] "Scientists in China claim they’ve created a working prototype of the ‘impossible’ reactionless engine – and they say they’re already testing it in orbit aboard the Tiangong-2 space laboratory. Quoting: DailyMailThe radical, fuel-free EmDrive recently stirred up controversy after a paper published by a team of NASA researchers appeared to show they’d successfully built the technology. If the physics-defying concept is brought to reality, it’s said the engine could get humans to Mars in just 10 weeks. But now, scientists with the China Academy of Space Technology claim NASA’s results ‘re-confirm’ what they’d already achieved, and have plans to implement it in satellites ‘as quickly as possible.’ 10 weeks. 10 damn weeks. Let that sink in for a minute. While not exactly warp drive it changes the ENTIRE dynamic of space travel. Count on it - and it will be the citizens against the government. It will be damn bloody. It will be a war of attrition. It will result in over 100 million dead.
