Re: Help Needed. Sick cats at home....
I hope someone can shed some light for me.

I have spent close to $500 in the past 2 weeks on my cats. $500 - in the two weeks leading up to Christmas - yeah this has been fun. They are all sick, like with the flu or something. Lots of sneezing, some coughing, all have temps.

I took the sickest one to the vet 2 weeks ago, he hadn't been eating and I could see he had lost weight. He had a fever, which shocked me as I didn't realize he was all that sick, other than lack of appetite and weight.

Well, he tested him for leukemia - at my urging (since the symptoms seemed to point that way - gave him an antibiotic when the test came back negative for leuk. Also gave a steroid, and said come back in two weeks.

So in the meantime, ALL the rest of my cats got sick (sneezing, fever, etc.). So today, 3 cats went to the vet....including the one from two weeks ago - and - HE STILL HAD A FEVER!!! AND LOST MORE WEIGHT!!! Not getting better, apparently.

WTF.

I'm at a loss here. I mean, I GUESS the next step is blood tests to determine exactly what they all got sick from (since ONE of them apparently infected everyone else), but I really don't have THAT much money. The past 2 weeks has cost $500 and it's NOT been fun, given it's Christmas and all.

Anybody have any ideas what might be wrong with my fur babies? Anybody experienced this? Could it be that they've all just gotten the same strain of a "cold" or flu or some kind of thing? BTW - they are all indoor cats, and never go outside.

** One last thing - if you're going to post some stupid shit like, "just kill them all and freeze the carcasses to eat later," or something similarly inane, I swear I will ban you. I'm not in the mood for stupid jokes about cats. I love my cats, AND I don't want them to suffer with some kind of illness, and I'm worried they'll just get worse until this is figured out.

Thanks for any input from other cat lovers!

Have you even tried eating their fecal matter? This can determine the different pH levels within it. From this you can deduce what is in their system and try to combat it with medication. You can also scoop the litter (must have the kind that clumps) into a blender and blend a little almond milk with the litter scoop and feed it back to them in the form of a cat litter smoothie. Their bodies will take well to it since it was once in them.

These are well known remedies within the feline ownership community. You must be a new cat owner. Please step up your game,

Wife is a vet, she says most likely it's the herpes virus. They all need to be put on an antibiotic to treat the secondary bacterial infection that comes along with the virus.

There is no cure for the herpes virus, all cats have it to some degree, its just that some aren't as affected as others. It's very common in multi cat households. When they tell you that they have an upper respiratory infection, that's the herpes virus.

You can take their temperature yourself, using a regular thermometer. Normally their Temps range up to 102.5. When they are at 103, it's time to be concerned.

Your vet will recommend an anti biotic, depending the severity of your outbreak. This will not cure the virus, but will take care of the bacterial infection. You can get a supplement called Viralize. Many have good luck with it to ward off infections. If the vet determines it's just the herpes virus, ask about Acyclovir. It works well.

Good luck with it. We have several rescues. Take the sickest one back to the vet asap.

It's very kind of you to offer this professional advice. Pretty sure Michelle is stressed to the max and missed your post. Had she seen it, I know she'd be so grateful for it.

Did you by any chance mean "Vitalize" rather than Viralize?

Thanks. My wife dictated the entire post. I just typed. I misspelled Viralys ... sorry, just double checked with her. It's an amino acid supplement that helps against feline herpes virus. Once more, the correct spelling is Viralys. Sorry again.

Here is a good link on the feline herpes virus. It explains it very well.

I once rescued cats...I couldn't afford a vet...I know a lot of alternative health info from my own health issues...when a cat I had had some sort of infection, id give them my homemade silver water...it's easier to buy it at a health food store, tho...you want colloidal silver...or nano silver...add a very little bit, just a few drops, to their water. They won't taste it. If they quit drinking, get a dropper and put a few drops in their mouths...I've saved numerous cats this way!!! Repeat several times a day, for about ten days...you should see improvements after about two days. Praying.

I have a bunch of feral cats that I take care of and agree about the Collodial Silver. I put a dropperful in a small amount of canned cat food and treat for several days. I have used it for eye infections, upper respiratory infections and lacerations.
It is amazing the improvement I see from just one treatment, and is usually healed after a couple of days.

Buy a Colloidal Silver Generator.I have been using ColloidIal Silver for over 25 years and it works. Just cured a friends very sick dog. Vet couldn't figure out what was wrong. I made 5 gallons of silver infused water, he was better in two days.

She was sceptical, but when she saw her dog recover, she went online and bought her own generator. Plus, you will find plenty of use for it yourself.

I have used it on myself, family, and pets. It works. IGNORE what idiots and shills will say about it. They idiots are ignorant and the shills have an agenda. Big pharma hates Colloidial Silver.

If you have more questions, I would be glad to answer them.

I once cured a poisoned cat with a product called Miracle 2, available from Joyce Riley from "The Power Hour". It was the last resort, but it worked.

Buy a generator pronto. You will use it for years to come. Make sure you buy one that uses two 9 volt batteries. The 99.999 silver will probably cost more than the generator itself. Do not use silver dollars, you must use the 99.999 pure silver.

All the best!!!

Can anyone recommend a good generator. I have been purchasing my collodial silver and it is getting quite expensive.

It was just an awesome thing for both you and your wife to do. Seldom does a professional who is paid for advice and information, offer it free to an unknown person. I hope you are both acknowledged for it. Would be very disappointing if you weren't.

No need to apologize about the misspelling. Just asked because I hadn't heard of it, but had heard of Vitalize for dogs. Since the r and t are right next to each other, it was a short jump to a wrong guess. 8)

Thank you again and give your wife a hug...and hope she returns it with one for you.
