Get some amoxicillin from that vet. Give it to the cats twice a day and see if they are getting better. The vet has seen the animals and knows you have sick ones, so he should be ok with it.

I think he didn't do the blood tests cause he's trying to save us money (it WAS right before Christmas, and there are a LOT of cats!). I will definitely insist on it - at least on one cat - if they don't get better pretty quick, now that EVERYONE has had these antibiotics. I think after 2 or 3 doses they should be feeling better, if not, it may be a virus and they don't respond to antibiotics. So if it's a virus, it's like us getting the flu? it'll just have to run its course?
