Dress Shops Dispute Trump's Claim That They Are 'Sold-Out' for Inhoguration: "Never Been Less Demand" Donald Trump claims all the “dress shops” in Washington, D.C. are sold out for his inauguration. We found hundreds of available gowns by Sofia Tesfaye, Jan 9, 2017 ...Trump spoke with a reporter from The New York Times he likes to deride and boasted, “We are going to have an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout for the inauguration, and there will be plenty of movie and entertainment stars.” Trump then added this bizarre claim: “All the dress shops are sold out in Washington. It’s hard to find a great dress for this inauguration.” That oddly gendered claim is blatantly false, however... Salon visited several stores near the inauguration parade route and found hundreds of available gowns. The Dior store at City Center had clearly heard of the controversy surrounding Trump’s comments by late Monday morning. As a sales associate was explaining that few area clients had inquired about inauguration weekend attire, a store manager rushed out of the back to shut down Salon’s questioning... Carolina Herrera...Herrera’s City Center store, two blocks from where Trump’s Commander in Chief inaugural ball will be held, was stocked with plenty of formal gowns... traditional American designer Kate Spade was fully stocked with dresses. Spade sales associates told Salon that the store has not yet seen an uptick in purchases in anticipation of Trump’s inauguration... even Macy’s was well stocked with gowns ahead of Trump’s inauguration. Macy’s workers in Washington were even setting up special inaugural edition window displays after Trump’s comments to the Times... Dress Shops Dispute Trump's Claim That They Are 'Sold-Out' for Inauguration: 'There's Never Been Less Demand' Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73780558 By Diana Pearl, January 9, 2017 Despite what Donald Trump may say, Washington D.C. stores have plenty of formalwear in their inventory ahead of the inauguration. Trump told The New York Times early Monday that D.C. shops have been selling out of gowns, with big numbers expected at the inaugural festivities — in particular, celebrities. “We are going to have an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout for the inauguration, and there will be plenty of movie and entertainment stars,” he said. “All the dress shops are sold out in Washington. It’s hard to find a great dress for this inauguration.” However, it seems that Trump’s claim is quite a stretch. PEOPLE called a few D.C. area stores that carry formal dresses and evening wear, and every store said they had plenty of inventory available... Peter Marx, owner of Saks Jandel, a D.C. area boutique, told PEOPLE that there have been fewer people seeking inaugural gowns. “There’s never been less demand for inaugural ballgowns in my 38 years,” Marx told PEOPLE. “Never ever has it been less for the inaugural"... I wonder if Marx has considered that perhaps nobody wants the dresses/formal wear that he has to offer, and that it's his inventory that is the problem, not Trump? |

They are so far removed from being actual journalists at this point that "investigative reporting" is calling dress shops to verify a claim. I guess you gotta start somewhere. With that said it is systemic to what the left does 24/7, Clinton's and the current alleged President have made it possible to tell a lie often enough where it becomes the truth. The only way this ship (country) can right itself is to temporarily engage(lie) is the same behavior. Truth doesn't seem to be able to compete with lies, we live in a nation where fifty percent of the liars are children (Liberals) and what do children do? LIE! |

Since the feminazis will not be attending Trump's Inaugural Balls, stores that cater to their cheap & tacky taste, and carry transgender/dike sizes are stuck with inventory they ordered last summer when their smug asses were certain Hildahag was going to wine. DC is a nice place but it's no fashion capital of the world and quite often it's years behind other cities in fashion. If you wanted a current fashionable gown for one of the balls you hauled your butt to NYC and bought your dress there. Why do you think MO was shopping online and contacting designers in other cities? |

Dress Shops Dispute Trump's Claim That They Are 'Sold-Out' for Inhoguration: "Never Been Less Demand" Just had a funny thought. There's been a lot of talk about how people tender their resignations as a formality. Maybe a lot of these folks tendered their resignations and were shocked that they were accepted and therefore they don't need to go to the balls to kiss up to the new president as they're out of government. Think about it, taking advantage of this "formality" of resigning under one president and being picked up by the next president is the perfect time to wholly downsize the government without any fanfare. It would get lost in the midst of all the talk about the inaugural and the festivities. If that's being done, it would in fact be brilliant. Heck they can accept the resignations of entire departments en masse. |
