On 12/29/12, President Obama signed HR 4310, (at night, during the holidays, in the dark, so that no one would even know); the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act. Section 1078 (thomas.loc. gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.4310:) of the bill authorizes the use of propaganda inside the US, which had previously been banned since 1948 when the Smith-Mundt Act was passed. The media was also reclassified as "entertainment".


In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States.

Personally, I think reinstatement of the Smith-Mundt Act is a good idea.

There is a great deal of change underway in our society.

People are moving away from the traditional MSM news sources because of the bullshit aka propaganda.

Eliminating the propaganda aspect in the news would help everyone to be more accurately informed about important issues.

I hope so. There are so many things that need to be done but this is definitely one of the biggies in my opinion.

But it would be grandly entertaining to watch Trump keep it just long enough to force CNN, the Washington Post, The NYT, Buzzfeed and the like to cover certain stories in a very conservative way.
