I think 2007 was a good year... Not sure if I would pick 2007, but is in my list...

YouTube already existed, but people weren't Facebook zombies yet...

And the economic crisis was just starting in Europe, wasn't a huge crisis yet.

Was a fun year, I think...

1984.

Over and over and over...

I was 8 years old.

My cat had kittens on my birthday.

Sports was still fun.

Reagan's re-election was a mere formality.

Transformers, V, Miami Vice, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Indiana Jones and the Temple Doom, Last Starfighter, ST III, etc... all premiered...

There is going to be a second revolution folks.

Count on it - and it will be the citizens against the government.

It will be damn bloody. It will be a war of attrition. It will result in over 100 million dead.

The heavy handedness of the government - the fascists in code enforcement and animal control especially - have brought this upon themselves.

you have a point here...

but your recognition as a great inventor was to end on December 31st, and you would go back to January 1st, and people wouldn't remember your inventions

you would need to invent everything again

yeah, sure

you can pick any age that your body ever had until now, and go to any year in the range, with 10,000 dollars in a suitcase

if you already existed in that year, you would still exist, but you wouldn't be the same you of that year, but a different person

Re: If you had to choose a year between 1916 and 2016 to be trapped forever in a one-year time loop...
the game is: you would arrive on January 1st of that year as a kind of "time traveler", with 10,000 dollars in a suitcase, landing in some empty public restroom

the exact same thing would happen over and over again, forever, after you completed the year, or died before the end of the year

the "you" from that year wouldn't be aware of your existence

you would be a time traveler from the future, nothing to do with your old self

I have research for a min to get an exact date, but it'd depend on the popular music during said year.

If it was shit I liked, all the well...if it was shit that drives me up the wall that would constantly be blaring on everyone's radios or phonographs....then after a few thousand incarnations I might start hurting people.

that's the reason I would probably choose 2007

there were lots of music from all times available on YouTube already in 2007

no need to listen to radio
