CNN, IMDB & other MAJOR websites are CLOSING their comment sections. This is insane!

It will just make sites that allow comments to prosper, which equals increase in revenue.

Why - because truth be told, people want to hear what Joe butt-crack mechanic says as equally as an Ivy league professor. The entertainment in knowledge so to speak.

Go to any non mainstream forum and you rarely see the same posting behavior at all

The comments sections are the only thing that makes ordinary news sites worth visiting. If they take them down they may find themselves without viewers and forced to put them back or die.

I always read comments, and conservatives have negative comments about the nonsense articles/fake news against President Trump. I noticed that CNN does not have a comment section, and some other sites don't either. Interesting.

Then again, it might be good. Late last night I read an article...I can't even remember what, but someone said that President Trump raped a 13 year old girl recently. Other idiots believed it, and it went downhill after that. Perhaps it's best to not to have the shills comment.

They are obviously getting buried alive with negative scathing comments on their biased, agenda-driven "fake news" so actually posting them would be the ultimate embarrassment.

It seems that they would rather live will the "intolerant" label, as the entire rabid Left seems comfortable with, than allow free speech on their own sites.

Regardless, their plummeting ratings and advertising revenue will continue to speak louder than any words could.

Best discussion boards for tv show discussion (have to register to post but not to read). Smart, funny, a little long winded sometimes but can often be more entertaining than the show itself! (No I have no commercial interest!)

It will go on happening, there is a problem with delicious hatred and trolling of the establishment. They detest free speech. With dying MSM, comments sections require expensive moderation they can not afford, then people wrap messages in delightful satire which show them up for what they are.

Best thing of all, is media that over moderate or close down comment become much less relevant.

With most things I read, I find the views in the comments section more interesting and important than some bought-and-paid establishment hack. Long live censorship and the death of traditional establishment rags.

Places like GLP and other sites I won't mention become people's first point of news where they can also find opinion and piece together the more likely facts and the real agenda.
