If you zoom in close enough its so far away you start to pick up parts of the lenses you are using to view it in the first place.

but yes i've seen this effect with out of focus telescopes, the sirius B one looks like we're looking at the cameras aperture or something internal to the camera

The word "stars" in the title pretty much sums it up for the non mentally challenged. Also the word "Sirius" is clearly displayed in red right beside the object of question.

Lastly, this post has absolutely 0 (zero) as in NOTHING to do with the shape of the earth. So the "flat earth" comment wont derail the post. Old tactic, played out.


Now go find Asstrolshill and tinker with each others "telescopes".

@ 1:32 you will see the exact same object. In focus? Out of focus? Does Nasa use $30 Walmart telescopes on the space shuttle?

Explain how a $30 walmart telescope produces the very exact same "out of focus" object that you can clearly see is the same object in the focused Nasa video?

Anyone with an amateur telescope/ binoculars can tell you these video's are rubbish. Nothing more than an out of focus star.

Through a telescope they look exactly as they do with the naked eye.


Try it for yourself before embarrassing yourselves further.

Also condensation on the lens.

Telescopes need to be outside at least an hour before use in order for the condensation to clear.

Someone even had a video like this and showed Venus appearing like the out of focus stars too.

All I can say is, look at venus for yourself through binocs or telescope, you will see for yourself these vids are BS.

Venus looks like a small moon with phases through a telescope.

This is probably the easiest thing to disprove. Try it.

That 'thing' at 2.06 is a shot that is so out of focus you can even see the 4 arms that are holding the mirror in the middle of the shot. If in focus, you would not see this. It is focussed for very near viewing, which is why you can almost see the internals of the scope itself.

Cheap out of focus newtonian telescope.
You can see the four spines holding the secondary mirror.
The black dot in the middle is the secondary mirror.

At 1:48 the black rectangle (the focuser going into the telescope tube) is at the 10/11 o'clock position. When the focuser is moved in, the image gets into focus (2:02). When further moved in, the image gets out of focus again and the black rectangle changes to the 4/5 o'clock position.

This patter is used by amateur astronomers to collimate a mirror telescope - the collimation is of, when the black dot (secondary mirror) is not centered. Google: "telescope collimation" and you will find a lot of these images
