Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed Orotards are the worst tards, they really are. Most of them are ignorant lazy white Ssi recipients living in trailer parks 1000 miles away trying to boost youtube chwnnel views to somehow make easymoney on top they welfare checks. Pathetic. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79081734 The dam is fine On time Under budget Lol. One more time: [link to alumni.berkeley.edu (secure)] THIS SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME AND IT IS FROM THE END OF JULY OF 2017!..... It should. There are interesting articles out there about the Mosul dam in Iraq. Never should have been built but Saddam insisted. It is build on permeable easily eroded rock (limestone or sandstones, I forget) and they walk it every day, inside and out, and grout the ever appearing leaks constantly. There is state of the art grouting equipment these days....its like a mouth full of rotting teeth getting fillings all the time, you just have to stay on top of it. Scott Cahill said they could fix the Oroville leaks-probably- with a six month intensive grouting program. That does not fix the gates...he wanted to see a whole new gate structure built where the new spillway is...but at least it would fix the leaky hillside and the leaky dam. I don't know if they could try to prop up the sagging gate structure or not, or what to do about the broken anchor tendons. Doing nothing is not the answer though. CA has done nothing. It is not ignorance about dams. DWR knows all this. It is deliberate. The only conclusion is that they want the dam to fail. The wilderness agenda? Destruction of the food supply? Just plain old sociopathy? Does it matter? They want Oroville dam to fail. All the talk about hydropower clean energy and they won't fix the dam. What's the forecast Crunch, you heard anything about the la Nina el Nino potentials? A dry winter or a string of pineapple expresses? Hope you get a dry one and the collapse of central valley holds off a little longer. Happy New Year Orotards : ) |

Keeping an eye on that mid-spillway wet spot. Still need lots of elevation gain before it comes into play. Then the DWR stiff shirts will start shitting themselves (again). Meanwhile...back at the ranch...all is still dry and we aren't flooded...yet...and the dam is still NOT fine... I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |

Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed Extreme rainfall could top 20 inches in California Relentless rain and mountain snow are expected to pound California for days this week as a more potent system will take aim at the region. AccuWeather meteorologists say it will bring a deluge of nearly two feet of rain — and up to 10 feet of snow to the Golden State. Even though precipitation is greatly needed across the drought-stricken state, the storm will bring too much all at once and lead to serious flooding and mudslide concerns as snowfall could shut down travel through the passes. How can you not keep a dam with this potential as safe as possible? How can you not fear the death of so many on your shoulders? They must be totally and completely cold blooded cold hearted sociopaths. Not to be repetitious, but..... [link to alumni.berkeley.edu (secure)] Bea: Yes, it is possible. And it would be worse than any of them. A breach at Oroville would send a wall of water down the Feather River, through the Sacramento Valley and ultimately into the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta. It would destroy towns along the Feather and Sacramento Rivers, flood major portions of Sacramento, and blow out levees throughout the Delta, permanently flooding much of the region. The huge government pumps near Tracy that send water to Southern California cities and farms would be incapacitated. There would be tremendous loss of life and property, and it would be years before a permanent water delivery system to the south state could be reestablished. Furthermore, it wouldn’t necessarily take a tremendous amount of rain and uncontrolled releases as we saw in February to trigger such a failure. It could happen on a bright, sunny summer’s day. The situation is that serious. |

The problem with inundation maps is that there are several inundation maps out there. Depending on which map you look at, I am either within the inundation zone by a few hundred feet, or just outside the inundation zone by a few hundred feet. What is the water depth at the very edge of the inundation zone? Three inches? That is normal for this area in the rainy season. Roads underwater? That is also normal for this area if it rains very much. I don't plan to go anywhere when that dam collapses. As I have stated before, if need be I will camp out on my roof and pick off looters.
