EVACUATIONS LIFTED NEAR THE OROVILLE DAM

Why, the dam is fine, and they have the erosion under control. Personally I would never live near a damn dam in the first place.

My take on it is, when they made the initial evacuation order, they said the emergency spillway was going to fail within 60 minutes. That gave people no time to do much other than jump in their vehicles and leave. So now, they know that it's not going to fail today or tomorrow, so they are letting people back in and telling them that they are still under evacuation watch, hoping that they will take the time over the next 24-48 hours to pack their really, really important things and be ready to GTFO for realz once the rain comes in the next day or so and waters start to rise again.

I wonder how much looting and theft happened by local tweakers?

Poor people, think of property values, not to mention the danger. Impeach Moonbeam, then rebuild the dam bigger and better than ever before. I know a man for the job.
