I did CAD proposal work for a couple of years for a company out of Ohio that remediated toxic waste Superfund Sites, such as Boston Harbor and Raritan Arsenal. I was preparing site maps for our bid packages on one project and when I saw the Hg symbol listed near one of the many test well I asked the engineer working the project, "So what exactly IS the allowable percentage of Mercury in any of the wells anyway"?. "That would be 0.0ppm, or absolutely none"! was his reply. This means that we would have to keep digging and removing soil and retesting until ZERO mercury was found before the job was complete. Yet doctors can shoot the shit into children's veins as a "preservative"? Haven't they heard about refrigeration? I just don't get it.
