I'm not in a position to start a thread on this topic as that would bring far too much attention to me. However I can say that there is something very, very important that is going on in the Antarctica!

Various Government officials from around the world have traveled here to get first hand information on what is happening.

What I can tell you is that there has been a military lock-down of us here. I am part of a group of researchers (I don't do research work, I am support staff - I work for UNAVCO) and the research work has come to a complete stop!

We have been told to confine ourselves to the station and still have most privileges, i.e., intermittent internet access, etc.

We were all told that in the interest of "National Security" (USA) it would be best to not discuss anything that is currently going on at the station although we were not told specifically that we can't discuss anything with friends, loved one, which is why I decided to post here.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the military is monitoring our emails and internet usage, so we shall see what happens after I post this.

I talked to one of the researchers here and asked what was going on, why various military personnel were here (from different countries but not specifically at our site, just USA). She told me that certain tests being conducted discovered information not previously known that have the potential of changing an entire scientific theory on what is currently believed. I asked her for specifics because what she told me wasn't anything specific. She just looked at me and said that she couldn't say anything else otherwise she could be imprisoned.

I asked her why she thought she couldn't say anything as I certainly hadn't been told that and she told me that she and all the other "researchers" (not support staff) had been made to sign a secrecy letter.

I'm not sure whats going on but I do see more and more research equipment (I'm assuming it's research equipment)has been coming in almost like clockwork.

I know this isn't much information but that's all I know. I'm going to start poking around the station (why not I'm bored and more importantly curious) and will find threads to post as time goes by.
