The Next Time You Talk To A Christian, Ask Them If They Obey Jesus' Commands.
Jesus stated, "You Are My Friend IF YOU DO [emphasis mine] What I Command."

Pew Pounding Christians like to TALK about a few of Jesus' Commands, but they cannot do them. Just ask them the question above. They will bluster, change the subject, blurt Bible verses, talk for ten minutes, point their finger at you, but not answer the question.

In fact, they cannot even remember what Jesus' Commands for them are. I guarantee it.

Re: The Next Time You Talk To A Christian, Ask Them If They Obey Jesus' Commands.
Uh, no.

Christians are the first to recognize that they fall short on a daily basis of God's expectations.

We are human. Emotions get the best of us sometimes.

When we do mess up, though, we are supposed to repent, both to God and by making amends with those we may have hurt.

Yes, there are plenty of people who claim to be Christians, but are not in practice. Usually this comes from having been raised in a Christian household, but having never translated this into their adult lives. So, when someone asks them "what they are", they answer, "Christian", like it is simply a club membership.

If you want a real answer, then you have to find a practicing Christian.

I didn't exactly sell my cloak for a sword, but I did deduct the cost of a really nice two hander from my clothing budget and then claimed that as a deduction on my taxes under the home office exemption. Render to Caesar and all that.

Agnostic NT interpretations. Now the question I have is the order of the commands...if I acquire the sword before I sell everything to follow the path, do I then sell the sword too? And if I take up the cross literally, can I then use that as a mobile home office and deduct the wear and tear on my sandals?

Pity your weak observation ability and lacking assessment skills.

1.) You are easily detracted from the topic here.

2.) You speak ad hominems to the exclusion of the issue here.

3.) You have a strange idea of what a Christian is.

4.) You cannot state why you are even concerned about what "I call myself."

5.) You sure are defensive about something.

6.) I am sure you have an intuitive and hypersensitive little heart, not something Jesus desires for you to be like.

Actually, I think it takes getting to a point where you realize just exactly how susceptible you are to living selfishly that you can effectively oppose that tendency within you - so, Christians may very well "bluster" when you ask them if they obey Jesus' commands, since they're being more honest than you are, but they probably rise above their selfish nature more often and more consistently than you do - since you give it no regard.

A selfless person (Christian or not) would recognize the worth of Jesus' teachings and the worth of those who try to model their lives after them.

a Christian is someone who believes Jesus is Lord. someone who knows he's imperfect and needs redemption in Christ, not someone who is perfectly practicing rules.

we come closest by having compassion and understanding; loving others as you do yourself...

but "all fall short"...this is why Christ died on the cross. we can try to obey the commandment to love God and love others, but we fail and need forgiveness. that's why any practicing Christian prays the Lord's Prayer...

until Christ returns and perfects us we are corrupt and fallen.

The thing about Christianity is there are many interpretations including the whole thing is a metaphor for gnostic and you are Becoming El.

And no one stands under anyone else or their definition.

The other thing is, the majority aren't religious and we're really sick of religious threads.

Spiritual is nice, people need to go within and wake up.

But if there was a real Christ, not necessarily born when they said, more Egyptian Pharoah of the past, who freed the people again, who were under fascism and Moses, the symbolic Joshua, He Didn't Come To Form A Religion But To Free Everyone From Those Dark Side Box's.

They put just enough Love and Light good things in religions to draw souls who are born Loving. Then they twist those souls into War and Hate and handing their Soveriegn authority away.

You want to follow Christ:

When they asked him what to do with the woman caught in the act of adultery, they were putting him on the spot. Do you obey our laws, or the roman laws?

He showed them something: He looked within to discern truth within anything, from the past, their laws, or any other thing, he went within: He wrote in the sand with HIS finger.

USE DISCERNMENT AND NEVER BUY WHOLE PACKAGES OF RELIGION OR POLITICS, BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL TRAPS.

True spiritual is gnosis and going within.

GENESIS 32;30

Jacob met God in the city of his pineal.

That blows our entire history of fascist religious rules in a fundamental and erroneous interpretation out of the water and makes anyone who tries to bully others and intimidate or control others or harms or kills or wars with others, or puts down women or children, or harms nature or animals BEYOND IGNORANT! JUST STUPID BEYOND!
