Why does president Trump appear to be powerless to fight back?

Why was nobody there to obstruct Obama? This is making me violently ill to watch and process.

Agree except the "screw their rights" part. There is enough on them in the public arena alone to have open aggressive investigations, indictments etc...without violating anyone's rights. Trump appears like a paper tiger right now. Sessions and Flynn go down for trivial or nonexistent events while the serial criminals remain in complete control, meanwhile Trump backpedals or sends mixed messages about whether or not he'll actually follow through on key campaign promises...the riots of a few weeks ago amounted to open sedition, the death threats against Trump and his supporters, on and on....meanwhile Trump goes after legal pot states for no good reason, and which will only hurt him politically...
