History repeats. This is what happens to a government when the socialists in power begin to lose. They make the country in question ungovernable, leaving the only alternative to the chaos they cause cracking heads with billy clubs, raids, arrests, purges, etc. I'm starting to believe, historically, that a measure of fascism is a nature and NECESSARY response to socialism because it is the only way to bring about order, without which nothing further can be achieved. After the Russian Revolution, the communists across Europe were hunted down, arrested and imprisoned. Why? because they had spread out across Europe and were causing both street level and political mayhem within European governments while plotting their overthrow. Hitler's "brown shirts" and Mussolini's "black shirts" were organized as direct responses to communist undermining of existing government structures. Same thing in the Chech Republic and many other places. When socialists are forced out of power, they never go peacefully. They immediately assemble an army of covert operative to undermine from within, from street-level organizers to the highest levels of power. Their heads have been cracked open because the continuity of civilized, governable nations has demanded it. They will keep pushing and pushing and pushing until no other choice is left.
