I was a Private First Class at the time, and the entire base went into lockdown. Had to stay in the barracks for a few days until they finally let us go home. I remember watching the news as that is all that was showing. I did not get to see it go down in real time, but did get to see it go down after the fact. We were told we were going to war. We didn't even know who had hit us in the first few days, yet we were told to get ready for war. lol The uncommon measure of a man is what he is willing to give up to elevate the next man. |
