BO gave plenty of boring speeches from the oval office and the white house in general. It was him and the cameras and droning on and on and on.

Trump, however, realizes folks have little free time and he uses the speeches to keep the American people in the loop since he can't really trust the msm to cover them properly.

Ergo he makes things fun to watch and people love them, they feel the movement.

It cost more for his son and wife to stay in new York than it does for the entire arts program. He goes on vacation every weekend. He is the president... shouldn't he be concentrating on being the president and not having some rally that we all pay for to inflate his broken ego....fuck you.

He's not taking away meals on wheels or anything for the elderly or probably even the endowment for the arts. He is, however, making a point with the House and the Senate, a huge point.

This was not meant to have the people talk abut this all over the msm 24/7 sticking up for their pet entitlements. This was meant to let the House and the Senate know that the days of hard core pork and stupid attachments to fund their cronies and donors are over.

It's to let them know that we know and he knows that for thirty years or more they've blythly spent the American people's hard earned money without thinking of the American people. Earning them a whopping twenty trillion dollar debt
from which they gained nothing.

It's the Presidents way of saying that he's watching the budget bill like a hawk and there better be real meaningful cuts in that budget. It's the President's way of letting them know his philosphy of what is important to him and to the American people. Cause the American people are watching this budget very carefully and they will rise up and complain if they don't see meaningful thought put into the direction the country is heading.

Yes he does because it's clear that mitch and paulie and maybe even pence aren't in his corner.

If they were, they would not be trying to force this healthcare bill down our throats and his, telling him this is the only way he can get a health care bill. And the WH staff isn't so smart. The optics on the endowment for the arts and meals on wheels are politically terrible and they didn't tell him this, they let him go out there with fodder for his enemies.

Remember he's not a politician, he's one of us.

Hey buttwhistle, Meals On Wheels is a STATE-RUN program. The Fed gives the State X-amount of money, and then the State decides where they want to spend that money. So take your beef up with your STATE - - you may be surprised at some of the bullshit that YOUR state spends YOUR tax money on!

And as for President Trump spending time at Mar-A-Lago, he is hosting meetings with various groups and individuals in a location which is comfortable and secure. Probably a lot more than the White House which probably still stinks of Obama and is bugged more heavily than the Russian Embassy!

ETA: And regarding his "campaign-style rallies", he wants to get in touch with We The People. It is obvious that the MSM picks, chooses, and spins any information which they pass along to us, and President Trump prefers a direct face-to-face event with the people who love him. We can hear exactly what he wants to tell us without any political filter being placed upon it by the lying media.

And I'm VERY glad to see that he is de-funding NPR and the Arts stuff. If people want to support that stuff, let THEM pay for it. I have NEVER appreciated MY tax money going to pay so-called "artists" who put crucifixes in vats of urine or draw pictures with feces or menstrual blood and call it art.

Fox just said that Pence is giving a speech somewhere in support of the healthcare bill and then getting on a plane and going to Palm Beach to speak to the club for growth which is an annual meeting of conservative lawmakers.

Did they ask President Trump to speak at this gathering? This is the kind of stuff pence does that makes some of us distrust him.

BTW, club for growth sounds like a hair regrowing group, terrible name.

An old timer just told me very excitedly that he "hasn't seen this kind of horse trading in the government since Reagan and Tip O'Neil". He loves President Trump and he was saying this in connection with the healthcare bill.
