Jesus admits he is not Messiah in Mathew Gospel
" Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many."
Come in my name that mean they are Christians. And will say that Jesus is Messiah (it was spoken by Jesus so I = Jesus)

No OP.. Jesus is telling us that there are people who will claim they are the Messiah.

Here's a YouTube of Obama mocking the bible and claiming to be the Messiah. Obama also claims to be a Christian, yet wears a wedding band that says "There is no god but Allah"... NO Christian believes this Muslim first pillar rule. No Christian believes in Muslim beliefs....

So you freely admit that you deny Jesus Christ?

So now we know who you worship.

I shall pray for your soul.

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew also says Jesus violated the temple.. he and his 12 passed out the shewbread not telling the receivers they can get sick from the yeast.. told his people king david was a thief.. told them they didn't have to wash their hands.. could drink poison.. none of them would die until he brought a new heaven.. He was born from a virgin but hated his mother and turned her away when she came with his brothers to protect him from himself stating he was mentally ill. She wasn't even allowed to take his body. He also told them not to tell anyone about the miracles he dif..

But.. no one is going to look into that either.

JESUS CLAIMS TO BE THE MESSIAH

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

Re: Jesus admits he is not Messiah in Mathew Gospel
Jesus claimed to be the Messiah, that is why he was crucified, we have confirmation of this from outside the bible, just about all critical NT scholars would agree that Jesus claimed to be the Messiah.

Even Bart Ehrman (one of the top NT scholars) who is Atheist agrees that Jesus claimed to be the messiah...

The only real debate is about Jesus claiming to be God.

Different authors will make different claims about the divinity of Jesus and when it started, they would make different claims about who Jesus said he was, but they all agree on a few things (very few)...

They all agree that Jesus was the son of God and they all agree that he is the Messiah.

That being said, the type of Messiah they expected was very different than what they got...

We also have to remember that we have no idea who wrote any of the gospels, but the consensus among critical scholars is that none of the gospel authors ever met Jesus in their life.

Not even Paul met Jesus while he was alive.

If you do that then you are only left with the words of Paul.

We can't even say who wrote anything else, but the evidence points to authors that never actually met Jesus, and who got their information from other people.

Yes that is the claim, but not exactly as you stated, it was not verified by Peter or the disciples as Peter and the disciples never wrote anything that is in the NT.

Paul's vision is problematic for many reasons (contradictions that make it hard to know what he really saw) but Paul is as authentic as it gets in the NT.

I can see many reasons why people might believe Paul.

If you read my last posts carefully, you will see that i said that none of the authors of the NT met Jesus while he was alive...

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some things hard to be understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction (2 Peter 3:15-16).

But Jesus is alive. Like right now alive.
Life is a spiritual war and no matter where we lay our head, we live in a warzone.

There will be casualties.

You do get to choose your side. I chose the Bright Side where my God fights for me.

Others chose the Dark Side and fight for an entity that views them with disdain and discards them.
