If the experience is anything like last time I went I'll be trying everything under the sun.

Yup. I usually go weightless or small split shot if its windy. Althought ive used those hooks with the weight molded to the shank. Worked ok.

Weightless with power pro braided line. If its too windy for that setup just go home and try again another day. Them largemouth know whats up when theres a splitshot.

my setup is a 7ft 1 piece ugly stick with the 3 post fuji guides , a penn ss450 , 20lb power pro braid , owner 2/O hooke and zoom 7 inch pumpkin seed lizard.

if theres a largemouth to be seen that rig will catch it.

Gold/brown and gold/gray Culprit plastic worm. Set it up Texas style with a small slip worm sinker. Work close to the bottom for best results. Good for lakes and slow moving waters.

Make sure the owner hook is offset and hook the lizard weedless.

I would only use the 3in silver castmaster. When you cast it put the tip of your pole down almost to the edge of the water. Reel it in fast. I've caught many bass on it. Nothing compares. One time I cast it out in the middle of a cove and the second it hit a 10lb bass jumped out of the water. I reeled it in so fast that I didn't even give it a chance to fight.

Back from the lake. After 9 solid hours of fishing I got skunked. On the bright side everybody I spoke with at the lake wasn't catching anything either so I don't feel like a complete loser. Got a wicked sunburn. That's about all I wanna talk concerning this. Appreciate all the tips from the users though. Keep it schwifty!
