My radio went out the other day on my new car. I called the dealership and the guy said it was "solar flares" super weird.

If Boston is out I will know by 3pm when Howie Carr comes on WRKO. He would be the first to say so.

Shit is getting real right now with this.

Remember, one does not need to hack a major platform in a substation to cause power outages. You can simply get into the relays and circuit breakers that are connected for status updates to bring it down. It's been done before.

Went out this morning in Mesa too.

The winds are dangerously strong right now in So. Cal., I think that is all that's going on - couple that with crappy out of date infrastructure yea, we lose power a lot when we really shouldn't.

Now comes the California politicians screaming for more money to replace everything important, like cracked white lines on the back roads or something.

The big thing no one seems to talk about in EMP scenarios is that all the nuke plants will melt down.

They could do partial shut downs on their back up generators, but from what I have been told (not an electrical or nuclear engineer here) the power they get from generators isn't set to last long enough to do a controlled shut down.

I think we'll see what happens!

I'll say. Cute little puffball of doom though. If the power isn't up and running by tonight people are going to start getting really upset. They won't have any electricity to run charge their phones, computers, and other electronics. I don't doubt there are lots of people who are going hungry and thirsty now because they can't buy food and/or drinks because they have no cash on them and their money is tied in with their plastic cards and/or their little RFID chips.

Ever since I woke up this morning I've been feeling as though there's been a light electrical charge in the air. Maybe this has something to do with the above space weather or something else entirely for all I know.
