Black & White- an odd question ..

My question is...

Why would seemingly normal people pick black and white tile as flooring in their home?

Reason for my question:

Remember that rich couple in Pensacola, FL a few years ago that were murdered in their home? They had 9 adopted children....

Their entrance tile were big black and white tiles. I know a lot of people here think of the bulk/wht combo usually means something "is up", I thought I'd run it by y'all to see what you think.

9 adopted kids is extreme for 2 people... especially older couples. I'm not against it, but 9 is just.... A LOT!
