If there is no mandate, just do away with seeing doctors and 'insurance' altogether. I don't think I've seen a doctor for years - and I'm now in my 50s. You guys need to learn to take care of yourselves instead of always reaching out for pharma drugs. And with the exodus of more millions of people, wouldn't the coverage just keep increasing? In the event something really serious hit and you need a stay at a hospital, it'd be cheaper to go overseas. |

If you don't have coverage you will still pay the penalty for the time period you go without, the difference is you won't pay it to the Govt, you will instead pay it to private business (Insurance companies)! |

Everything User ID: 71719409 United States 05/04/2017 07:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What these motherfuckers didn't tell you about the "new" affordable care act that Congress just voted on and now goes to the Senate, is that while they did away with the "mandate" that you purchase health insurance, they replaced that part with a clause that reads that the insurance companies can now charge you a surcharge! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73060375 This means that while your not required to purchase healthcare, you still get fucked. Here is how that works, say you decide not to purchase healthcare, no problem. You go without healthcare for a year and then decide that you want healthcare. You apply to whatever healthcare company and that company can legally charge you a surcharge for the entire year (or whatever time period be it more or less) that you went without coverage! Congress fucked over the American people once again! They have been and you should have read more, it to the states and the states can open up to other insurance companies and they have rules that have something to do with and anti trust from back in the 1930s. So, this is a lot like the congress old insurance where they got a lot of choices. That is good for the people. The way they will have to work their plan to get money, if they want more money they have to compete. If you think the surcharge is not high for lower income right you are mistaken. Sorry I got a headache These are the times that tries men's and women's souls! May we come though it victorious! |

Healthcare is a scam unless you break a leg - they are awesome at that. That is what the ER and chapter 7 is for. Fukem in the ass and let's see how much they charge me on death. Doctors are the actual government's finger in your ass. |

No, what you describe would have to be covered under the high risk (pre-existing coverage) policies that are being left to the states to figure out! Fuck off troll.......... |

How about Workers Comp, Home, Renters, or Basic Liability Insurance? Same thing. Why should Health Insurance be any different? Makes sense to me. I did it. I did it on purpose. And I'll do it again. |

Quoting: Festus Hoggbottom How about your healthy but you don't make enough to get the healthcare, so you go without no problem! Then you get a new position or change jobs and are making enough to get coverage, your still healthy no issues at all, but you will pay the surcharge for the entire time you went without insurance! And since you want to compare car insurance to health insurance, suppose you move to a city and no longer need your car. You drop the insurance no problems. Then a year later you move again and insure your car, they DO NOT reach back and fuck you with a surcharge for that year! Nice try, doesn't fit the situation! |

I agree, but what if you decide to change your mind years later? You will be forced to pay a surcharge for the entire time you went without and will get NO coverage until you pay that surcharge! You think thats right??? |

I never go to doctors, knock wood. I have not been to a doctor since 1991. And I didn't need to then, it was stupid. I take care of my own health with diet, exercise, vitamins, minerals, herbs, and supplements. I can't afford to get sick and miss work - so, I don't. It's always been that way. |

In the good ol' days of being a doctor, they helped the patient live by any means. Today, not so much...they want repeat bidness and encourage a life long relationship with them and as bonus, the hookers pharma gives them. Dr.s today are merely those who can memorize - my cat is smarter than all of them. |
