This is apparently over the historic monument in Jackson Square of Andrew Jackson. Why? I have no earthly idea. It is not civil war related but is related to the Battle of New Orleans against the British. I think the blacks find it offensive and mistake it for some civil war relic. It's ridiculous. Jackson square and that statue ARE THE FRENCH QUARTER. It's the most recognized monument in New Orleans and the .gov is supposedly taking it down. I wish I was there. I would be protesting the decision also. |
