Quoting: Starbird There are many role play threads on this site, I've been here for years and seen them. That said I will quit messing with you - and get serious - since you seem legit. Have you thought about discussing with a therapist some of your complex thoughts. Maybe at your baseline you are fighting depression? Are you exercising regularly? This is very important for mood stabilization. Too much time on your hands can lead to rumination. You have a lot to offer others - get out there. Walk dogs at the Humane society. Visit old folks at the care home. If bringing kids into this world or having a relationship is not for you - thats fine. Find your way. Set goals for yourself and keep them. So many books and references out there to motivate a person - seek them. BTW I am not a man, I am a woman twice your age. Like I said, I been around. This whole thread is fake. First you post your existential crisis - and then you "Love bomb" people. What a mood swing. You are playing with people. Not good and I see you. It's been a slow day. Where you been hiding? I am like the lighter more loving feminine version of Brief. HAHA Just kidding but this sure seemed like a bait thread. I checked the OP and I see his crisis is quite legit. So imma be nice. ... Yeah I caught myself till I saw it was a repeat.. #checked Okay, so Miss Starbird and one of nine are henpecking me right now making me run through the quagmire to vet me for entrance into the community. I get it; I respect it, even. My apologies, Starbird. To answer your questions, I do lift weights and jog, and I do see a psychiatrist, but I have never done talk therapy extensively; honestly, I haven't been super impressed with the mental health resources I've seen. I don't really want someone to just spill my guts to incessantly. I like actual dialogue and feedback. But I may have misconceptions about the process. I have struggled with depression (waxes and wanes) for many years. "Greater love has no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friends." - Jesus, John 15:13 |

In order to escape the beast the traveler hides in an empty well, but at the bottom of the well he sees a dragon with its jaws open, ready to devour him. The poor fellow does not dare to climb out because he is afraid of being eaten by the rapacious beast, neither does he dare drop to the bottom of the well for fear of being eaten by the dragon. So he seizes hold of a branch of a bush that is growing in the crevices of the well and clings on to it. His arms grow weak and he knows that he will soon have to resign himself to the death that awaits him on either side. Yet he still clings on, and while he is holding on to the branch he looks around and sees that two mice, one black and one white, are steadily working their way round the bush he is hanging from, gnawing away at it. Sooner or later they will eat through it and the branch will snap, and he will fall into the jaws of the dragon. The traveler sees this and knows that he will inevitably perish. But while he is still hanging there he sees some drops of honey on the leaves of the bush, stretches out his tongue and licks them. In the same way I am clinging to the tree of life, knowing full well that the dragon of death inevitably awaits me, ready to tear me to pieces, and I cannot understand how I have fallen into this torment.
