I think this is important. It does not speak of the leaders or rabbis or politicians saying peace and security, but rather the people.

In other words it is when the people become too comfortable they also become apathetic and let their guard down. This is why we must remain vigilant.

Remember what Paul said; Our battle is not with flesh and blood but with powers and principalities of darkness.
