Anonymous Coward User ID: 5332670 United States 05/24/2017 11:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let me give you some insight...I am developing a new product and need a logo for the company packaging etc. I have reached out to many companies in the us. Even though I have designed the logo myself and it just needs to be copied in Adobe illustrator...us companies want $200-$400 just for a logo...and guess what..they outsource it to india...yesterday I secured my domain name and a few companies from India called and quoted me $35 for the same work. So guess the outcome. American companies for the most part are rude, arrogant and are acting like it's still the 80's. America is doing it to itself. |

They work cheap, will accept shitty work conditions and on paper look qualified but they are rubbish without exception. This is primarily the Indians arriving on 457 [visas]. Poor English combined with an exaggerated sense of self importance and knowledge, not to mention some of the worst toilet habits and personal hygiene I have ever seen. I’m talking about not washing hands after the loo and leaving huge dumps in the toilets and not flushing. I have discontinued several of these who came to us from a HR firm as “senior” developers only to find they had a knowledge base below that of a 1st year university programming student. There is no way in hell that 90% of of 457 [visas] in IT are either capable or essential. Its a total f**king scam. On the surprising side we have had several female programmers transition through on contract work who came from Iran and they were surprisingly good. Quiet and hard working. Had one lady who every time I approached her workstation would stand up and almost salute me, I had to take her for coffee and explain that certain deferences are simply not required here. As I said to her if my boss expected me to stand up every time he walked by I would tell him to F**K off." |
