Tomatoes from my garden that are oh so yummy. Coconut Water Kifir I made, and an avocado I bought. (No Avocado trees in Colorado) Fiesta! Quoting: ClownWorld#1984 Tomato season is the best. I hate Mexican tomatoes. They pick them to early. :tomatoes: |

User ID: 79088956 United States 10/04/2020 10:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Been using the double boiler on the wood stove this week. Makes great ribs. Just cut them to fit the stainless steel mixing bowl that's nestled in the big stock pot, and add a bottle of barbecue sauce. I let it simmer all night, and the next day the meat falls off the bones. Even if all the water boils off in the stock pot, the food will not ever burn. Good way to cook for people that forget things on the stove. Doesn't matter if you use gas, electric, or wood stove, just set the heat to a slow simmer. Crock pot could burn the food if forgotten. Anyway, got a lot of leftover barbecue sauce, so i added some slices of roast beef. Made sandwiches with the warmed beef, on a few slices of ancient grain bread that happened to be on sale this week. I'll probably put the leftover barbecue sauce back in the jar to use later this week. Unless there's more pork on sale again. Drinking filtered spring water. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |

I mean with the right knowledge you can make a nutritious mean. Ever think about forgaging around the neighbourhood? Picking apples, pears, chestnuts and the like? No I have plenty, I just meant I have been busy all day and just got a chance to microwave some frozen Pad Thai. It's just ok, nothing special. I have a ton of food in my pantry especially because of the pandemic but nothing defrosted and I don't feel like baking at 8pm at night! I made a Margherita pizza for lunch that was great though. So I am having frozen Pad Thai with some peanuts thrown in and Truly hard seltzer which is my new drink of choice when it's super hot outside. |

I've found so much edible food in the dumpsters, I just don't do it anymore. Every once in a while the sheriff calls to say someone hit a deer, and can I come out at 3 AM to pick it up way out in the county. There's food enough, an excess even, unless someone is too full of pride to turn it down on morality grounds. I personally know house-less people, down on their luck, no place to sleep turn down just looking to see what people throw away by digging in a dumpster. Probably the cheapest place to get grain is in a feed store. 50# sack of cracked corn usually sells for about $10. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |
