I’m thinking of homemade pesto pizza with a freshly picked garden salad.
Quoting: Rev Woo-Woo Fratellis pesto pizza, Philadelphia, 1990. A taste I will never forget as long as I live.
The line for the pizza would go around the block.
It was a bright green broccoli pesto, made with basil, broccoli, pine nuts, olive oil and garlic, in a food processor.
They would put a tonne of it onto the home made Italian pizza dough, lots of mozz on top and brick oven baked to perfection.
Then they suddenly closed one day.
It was the end of a beautiful dream.
I have searched high and low the world over and have yet to find a pizza so delicious as Fratelli's pizza.
Also, I miss 1990 like the dickens!
