British Election-2,227 votes saved the uk from a PM Corbyn
Interesting article in the Independant newspaper regarding to General Election in the UK.

Jeremy Corbyn was just 2,227 votes away from having the chance to become Prime Minister in the general election, an analysis of marginal seats has revealed.

If the Labour leader had won seven seats narrowly taken by the Conservatives, he would have had the opportunity to form a “progressive alliance” with all other smaller parties, barring the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP).

The Labour Party has said it was prepared to form a coalition government, with Mr Corbyn announcing: "We are ready to serve."

Re: British Election-2,227 votes saved the uk from a PM Corbyn
Good morning sir. A lot about this election to make us worry for the future. Does anyone seriously believe this idiot, who his own cabinet resigned from rather than work with him, won the election honestly?

My opinion on it:
Thread: UK: Why the Rightwing/Centre right will Never Win an Election Again

I've heard personal accounts, one from my own nephew, of students being instructed to vote Labour. Not that they needed instructing, they've been brainwashed for years.

I'm very worried for the future. Glad I'm out if it here in the wilds of western Ireland, but my family are still in England and that's gone to the dogs.

Corbyn needs to come out and call for a cross party negotiating team on Brexit.
Theresa May won't be around in a few months. If she doesn't resign, her own party will oust her which will plunge Brexit talks into more chaos.
With a cross party agreement she can get the talks started with representations from the entire house and the country.
That when she goes, because it's no longer a question of if she goes but when, then the talks can continue uninterrupted.
She is too weak to take the initiative so now would be a good time for Corbyn to prove his leadership credentials.

Leadership credentials! He only got so many votes by bribing students with free tuition. The fact that the Tories did well in Scotland where there's already free tuition proves that.

As for negotiating, he wants more mass immigration and free movement with the EU etc - in other words staying in the EU in all but name.

Why do you call it a bribe when it comes to students?
So what is the triple lock if not a bribe?
What is winter fuel payments if not a bribe?
What are corporation tax cuts if not a bribe?
What are tax cuts if not a bribe?

The Tories did well in Scotland because Nicola Sturgeon did so poorly. People have had enough of referendums, elections, and referendums. They were basically telling Nicola Sturgeon that.

As for the mass immigration, that is why they need cross party talks. Because if all the parties are represented, then no one party can rail road its own idea.

Besides, I have no problem with EU immigration. It is the immigration that comes from outside the EU I have an issue with.

It isn't Poles and Romanians who are blowing themselves up in Manchester. They only come here and work. What's wrong with that?

The thing is they can have freedom of movement with the EU, access to the Common Market, but they don't have to let the EU migrants have access to our health care, without insurance, or they don't have to let them have access to in work benefits or child benefit.

That will automatically stop a lot of them coming here anyway.

There are a number of cards the UK is holding that it can play.

I don't understand how you are trying to link to completely separate issues?
If Polish and Romanians want to come here and work, what is wrong with that?

I already said I don't want people from outside of the EU coming here. We have immigration laws in place to already stop that.
Inside or outside of the EU, those laws still exist. Freedom of movement only applies to EU countries, so I really don't understand what you are talking about.

The UK is an island. We have border checks be it at the tunnel, the ports or the airports.

So where are they able to strut here with no checks?

The terrorists who blew up Manchester and attacked London didn't come from the EU, they came from inside the UK. That is a failure of the home secretary in not clamping down on immigration from outside of the EU. Those laws are already in place and we are more then able to close the borders to them and stop them coming here.

Immigration from outside of the EU IS controllable with our own laws today. Why the Tories never did it in the last 7 years, is anyone's guess. Theresa May had the ability to clamp down on it and never did, in fact she increased it.

I have never heard Corbyn say he wants immigration outside of the EU. I don't know how much of the election and the debates you saw, but I pretty much followed all of it and he never once said he was in favour of open immigration during all of the debates. He was actually in favour of controls and a reduction. Its only the Daily Mail that pushes that line, but every time he was questioned on it he was always against it.

Which one of us is making up the facts to suit?

Immigration from outside of the EU is something we have the ability to control now. For what ever reason, we don't.

You said they were ALL from the UK - plus Salman Abedi travelled back and forth to Libya to get his instructions. Get my point?

But I agree immigration from outside the EU is a big problem too. Corby wants more of that too. End of. You can't negotiate with a fanatic. Waste of time.

I never believe what a politician says during an election campaign. But in 2015..

Corbyn says immigration isn't a problem

and..

Corbyn isn't opposed to mass immigration, and has a problem with the way we talk about it. He told Channel 4 News, "I think the whole narrative on immigration has been quite unpleasant..

Which is why he failed to get elected.

If he gets more people into his cabinet from the centre of the party and let them have some input, then he will start to appeal to a lot more voters.

2227 voters could have swung it if the details in that article are correct.

Right now he isn't the Prime Minister.

The Tories are going to get rid of May and more then likely bring in Boris.
Which I think will be a disaster for the Tories.
He might appeal to a few voters, but he is viewed as a clown by a good too many voters.
The Tories are in big trouble.
They are plunging the country into trouble too.

Boris isn't a clown, he's a shifty self-interested liar. Gove sussed him out at the end, but he got it in the neck for ditching him.
