According to an article from the Israeli news agency Haaretz, the country’s health ministry had imposed a labeling restriction on Heinz that required the company’s flagship product to be labeled as “tomato seasoning” rather than “ketchup.” That ruling stemmed from a January 2015 controversy in which rival ketchup producer Osem argued that the composition of Heinz’s product shouldn’t legally be allowed to bear the label “ketchup” because it didn’t contain the required minimum amount of tomatoes. I took the lid off the boiling ground habanero peppers and got a face full of capsicum steam. Pepper spray is mild by comparison. It's really the sodium benzoate. Israel law doesn't allow more than 0.006 ppm. Unfortunately, the anti mold preservative can be found in much higher levels in everything from Hires root beer to BBQ sauce to taco bell hot sauce. Basically it's in everything and it's dangerous as Hell. Read the ingredients before purchasing anything. Monosodium glutamate can often be found in these Products as well. Hot sauce is mainly Chiles, vinegar and salt (all natural preservatives) so why add the Sodium benzoate? Because it's a killing agent. That's it. |
