My Cat Got Shot And Killed

i know how you feel. my brothers wife would et her dogs out and they always came over to my house ( they lived about 500 feet next door to me ) and chase my cats. i have 2 dogs but i put them on a lease or tie them up when i take them outside so i jumped onto her and like always she got mad. well one morning i heard a shot sounded like it was right my door, and before i got to the front door i heard her truck start up and she left. i looked outside and did not see anything looking for blood and all. i called for sammy for 2 days he never came. then one day while my nephew was outside he asked who i was calling. i told him my cat sammy. then he told me that there was a cat on the side of the road down the hill by our house, he rode with me to show me, and sure enough it was sammy. i took him home and looked at him before burying him, he had been shot. i know she did it but i have no proof, they still live here but in the back of property further back. sometimes their dogs make their way up here. i am getting them dogs used to me then when i can i will get them put them in the cage in my car and take them to the pound let her see what its like to lose a family member. i miss my cat. he was the most loving tom cat ever, never bothered anyone. she was in jail for a while but now she is back home. and i now have my female cat frisky missing, not seen her in almost a week and i am thinking she killed her but she will soon find out what its like to lose a beloved pet. i have been feeding her dogs those bacon stripes treats, they are getting used to me and soon they will start going missing.

tiger, take it to the Lord. he will pay them back in his time and his way and if they have pets and you can get ahold of them, do not kill them just take them to the pound, if not then if they have anything they like do something to destroy what they got, let them know that

Just today I was thinking about my own kitty, and the horrible pain she endured, and wondered if I'd get to see her again. I prayed to God to give her the message that I did all I could to help her and I wish I could see her again in heaven.

I've always been uncertain about whether our animals would be there, but your post gave me hope :) it's funny that I was literally just thinking about this today, and then came across this thread.

Take it from an Oregonian.

Oregon was once a predominantly conservative state. Absolutely beautiful, with lots of wilderness and reasonable laws.

Many years ago, Kalifornians started streaming in here and bringing their INSANE laws and regulations with them. They completely transformed the land use laws and the social environment here, right into the sewer.

They used to stick to the major metro areas and the I-5 corridor. But over the last 5 years (especially) they have been FLOODING into the state, and have been buying up all of the rural areas, driving lifelong residents right out of the housing and rental markets.

It wouldn't be so bad, except these mother f'ers bring their INSANE libscum politics with them, and their policies on taxes and regulations.

Your best example of just how CRAZY Oregon has gotten with the influx of Kali-scum moving here, is Portland. Exhibit A. And now, even out here in the rural areas, they are infesting the entire area.

A formerly beautiful (and conservative) town like Roseburg, the only remaining conservative town on I-5, has been transformed into a cauldron of Kali Libturdism.

Remember the Umpqua Community College shooting? I knew before the shooter was identified, that it was a f-ing southern Kalifornia transplant, and guess what... Sure enough!

At least Roseburg still has enough sane people left, to tell Obama to GET LOST, when he came out to visit the families of the victims.

my story: 2 dogs constantly roamed the neighborhood, would dig the fence around my rabbit pen. finally I witnessed them killing my neighbors cat.
Called Animal Control. They told me since cats roam that cats don't have rights by law.
But what I did was get the owners on leash laws, and after taking photos of the roaming dogs and filing 3 complaints the owners finally got a fine and since then have kept their dogs off the streets.

moral of the story: follow the law, get the bastards for violations of shooting a gun illegally. file noise complaints against them. use law enforcement when people violate laws... let the police do their jobs and give them evidence to prosecute.

So sorry for your loss. Been there. Your neighbors sound like my old neighbors, who shot one of our cats in the eye, half blinding him, while laughing his ass off about it. Our cops wouldn't do crap, either. Ultimately, we moved, and our cats no longer go outside. I have really learned to hate most of "humanity." You will meet your kitty again, on the other side. Peace and love to those that still have hearts and souls. The rest, burn 'em.

If it is feasible for you and you haven't done so already, you might want to consider setting up electronic surveillance of the perimiters of your property. You'll be able to monitor the safety of your surroundings in real time, and you'd have proof should they attempt to harm your family (fur babies included) in the future. I say this with a sense of urgency, as calling the police may have provoked them. If you want to look into it, I'm sure a lot of folks on GLP, myself included, have some experience setting up a cheap system and would be happy to point you in the right direction when you feel well enough to start moving forward. You'd only need some cheap outdoor IP cameras, a router, any old monitor, and a hard drive.

Regardless, I just prayed that God place a hedge of protection around your family.

I am so sorry.... You know with that amount of blood he must have been shot right at those steps. Did the officer reach that conclusion because he should have. So this shot came very close to possibly hitting someone inside your home. Now that makes it creepy and I would think law enforcement would be more aggressive about it. I wish there was something I could say but I would assume your other pets are on the target list. If it blocks their perspective, you could put a lattice panel up or three.

A number of people who have had near death experiences, who claim to have crossed over, say that our pets are with us on the other side.

I say "why not?" God gave us dominion over the beasts of the earth. If He allowed us to make brotherhood with the animals during our time on earth, perhaps he blesses us in the same way in Heaven.
