I have taken it a few times. Never had a bad reaction. You have to make sure you don't skip a day though. Some people don't realize how bad they can be if you mess up the way it's supposed to be used. Look up antibiotic misuse.

They gave it to me for an ingrown toenail. I'm sure there were a million things they could have tried first.

D-Mannose for any bladder infection will clean it out safely in just a matter of days. Just a simple sugar 100X stronger than cranberry, totally safe, sold at amazon for a few bucks.

Cipro is very dangerous and is not to be given to anyone over the age of 62. I now have detached retina from Cipro as well as fibro and other connective tissue problems.

That was malpractice. You should sue, sersiouly. There is absolutely NO reason that should have been prescribed.

Shit I was on something WAY less nasty, Augmentin once, and I felt spacey for 4 weeks and my eye sockets hurt. The NEXT time I needed antibiotics, I told the doctor this and he said he doesn't even prescribe that to people, and talked about 3rd and 4th generation antibiotics.

So the fact that this shit was given to you for a common thing is malpractice.

I have sporadic joint pain after taking cipro for ONE DAY.

D-Mannose, a probiotic, and allicin (derived from garlic) was the magic combination that killed everything in its tracks for me.

I had a hellacious bacterial GI infection and the Cipro immediately made a difference. I have always read it's a last resort antibiotic as it is the nuclear option.

I keep them in my preps for a grid down situation, and the nasty infections, in such a situation, that can easily kill you (My great-great grandmother died from - I kid you not - a zit). That said, they would NEVER be my first go-to in a normal situation.

It's horrid stuff. I was prescribed this for a UTI infection by the stupidest doctor I ever met.

After 3 doses and nearly collapsing as I stepped out the back door I didn't take another. I didn't have pain or tendon problems, just dizziness and not able to walk.

Why is this still being used? It's a sulfa family drug, which I am deathly allergic to.

Now, I do not take any drug without researching it first. Doctors can kill you.

For those of you suffering, I am so sad that this awful drug did such damage to you. Seems like there is some good advice her about how to manage your tendon problems.

Worst part is this... after several trips to ER and to Primary Dr. and Ortho Dr only ONE ER DR. was informed of this med and its effects... The rest look at you crosseyed and say your nuts... But I begged them to research it before they prescribe it again!

For those of you who have tendonitis I suggest you look into apitherapy, specifically bee venom therapy.

Shit. I just looked and my dad age 67 is on it for bladder infection. His prostate is messed up and always swollen and painful. Leaves him with bladder infections that doctor pit him on that med cause regular antibiotics didn't work

I get mixed readings on this. Cipro is prescribed often for people allergic to penicillins or sulfas.

Cipro also causes suicidal ideation. This is no joke. It also slows the excretion of caffeine.

Had to take levaquin for pneumonia 2 years ago that didn't respond to 3 courses of regular antibiotics.

My achilles tendon still often feels like it's maxed out while exercising, but I don't know if is the result of the drug or reaching the ripe old age of 40.

I love the stuff. Keeps me feeling young.

I take cipro whenever I feel a cold coming on..kills it instantly!

Also, whenever I travel overseas I take cipro to protect me from the nasty disease and filth most foreigners carry (especially in the Middle East and South America)...never catch any of their coughs or rashes and clears up any travelers diarrhea I may experience.

I have heard a lot of people bash cipro, but I have taken it for years and never noticed a single side effect?!

I avoid most pharmaceuticals, in fact occasional cipro and ibuprofen is about all I ever take. I eat healthy and take good vitamins and supplements.

I am sure like most pharmaceuticals, certain people's biology cannot cope with powerful drugs.
