Broken water mains and sewer pipes. That's the first thing that happens when ground underneath shifts/sinks. And it's a really nasty business.

That would really suck watching your family home get swallowed up.

I wonder if homeowners insurance down there covers things like this?

Whoa!

A geological engineer to me recently that the substrata of Florida land below a certain point south can be prone to this sort of thing. He might have said below Gainesville, but my memory is likely playing tricks on me because he is a UF grad and a big fan of UF football. Pretty sure it didn't include Gainesville. It could be much further south.
Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved.

Re: A 200 ft wide sinkhole in Florida
I live here in this town. My family goes to that neighborhood, Lake Padgett, and looks at their Christmas lights every year because their home owners association likes to have contests for it.

My husband and I have been warning for years now that due to local and state government corruption, there would be an increase in sinkhole activity because our government is rubber-stamping environmental permits to land developers without doing the necessary procedures to ensure public safety.

You know how it is: it costs money to actually follow the law and do what's right to ensure everyone's safety, so they cut corners in their land development projects and refuse to protect the wetlands that help prevent the geological factors leading to sinkhole formations. Also, if land developers do not have to protect sensitive wetlands, they get to bulldoze over them, fill them in, and build even more houses on that area, so that they get to make even more money. Unfortunately, it is both illegal and dangerous as Hell to do it that way, but it makes them more money, so they do it.

We have a website covering this information with actual court documents with sworn court testimony proving that Florida is corrupt. I've written threads about it before here on GLP.

Here is my previous thread:

Thread: Would You Freak Out If I Told You I Was Trying To Prevent Florida From Becoming Another Atlantis, and I have the Court Documents To Prove It?
