I work in the spray foam construction industry around Dallas, TX. If I'm not working outside, I'm probably in an attic. The last few weeks have been absolutely miserable, I've really appreciated the frequent rains we've been having even though it shuts down roofing jobs. Over the last 10 days straight I've been on a roof job in Dallas proper, sun exposure has made me sick almost every single afternoon. Diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, dizzy spells have hit our whole crew repeatedly, only three out of 8 guys made it through the whole job without calling in sick. Water and pedialite are necessities, sometimes it's impossible to drink enough to keep up with how much we're sweating out.
Maybe it's due to just getting older (38 now) but it does seen the summer months are getting more and more brutal.

I grew up doing concrete in a desert city. highs of 115 were common.

i'm now in my 50's and due to the recent insane demand for contractors in my area, I decided to go back to it for the money.

it ISN'T 'the sun' per se. It ISN'T the 'UV'.

it is the intensity of the sun's spectrum which heats a person up . It doesn't matter how much you stay hydrated.

Twice in my life, i was finishing concrete and my eyesight faded to black. I mean total black and I stayed conscious. I sat down, someone brought me a hose and i sat there on the ground with a hose on my head for 15 minutes and I recovered.

FYI, the sunlight is more intense now. It used to be more yellow, now it is blazing white.

it has nothing to do with UV. It is the infrared spectrum that heats the body.

This is really weird - normally when a baby dies in the womb the mother goes into labor/miscarriage and rejects it.
