I'm going to do my entire house with blue hues in contemporary pastels, no dark colors it just makes winter bleary and is very hard to paint over. I love the look they are doing most homes in now, grey blueish walls, dark or ash floors and cabinets, nickel finishings (no gold any more, ever, unless going for that Luis V look is your thing.) THis time I'm lettinga young couple do the wordk, but it's noon and they haven't called yet! Hilarious. Perfect pick up job for heat waves BTW., interior painting. |

I thought of using different shades of white on different walls (it's a small condo with lowish ceilings) just to alleviate the boredom. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72950337 Does anyone have any suggestions? Golden tones are hard. Can go with a light beige, keep ceiling white. Or a mid to light tone leaf green. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75246369 United States 07/19/2017 12:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | At one house I worked at we did cherry finish on molding and crown molding and a deep barn red paint.. It actually came out looking nice.. That's what the home owners asked.. At first I thought it was going to look odd but looked great for the entrance way, main room, hall and living room. I know that prob doesn't help.. Was green a choice you were hoping to use? Maybe a lighter green/blue hue.. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19684802 United States 07/19/2017 12:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look for the in-between colors... i.e. not quite blue, not quite grey or a blue-grey-green depending on the light These will give you come cheer without screaming "color". Cool toned hues will feel more modern and fresh than warm-toned ones. |

Think about it from an evolutionairy perspective, when it's day time, you see the blue sky. You're not suppose to be sleeping at this time, hence why blue inteferes with melatonin, so you don't sleep during the day. |

Try to find a green which has a lot of grey or black in it. Make it medium- dark but not too saturated in color. Remember to look for the in-between colors. In this case you would be looking for something that is in-between dark and pastel grey/green. |

Quoting: queenbee 72138947 Nope all the furniture is gone. Starting from scratch its really easy man. just look at pictures one youtube. til you find a combination of colors you like. and dont worry. they probably wont ever look super bad unless you mix like purple and green and red walls (like my indian neighbors used to have) look for 'living room colors' on google then go to pictures |

But all gray seems a little depressing Look at some colours. See how they make you feel. Pick the ones that have a positive effect on you. Fuck it if it doesn't match. It doesn't have to match. Its your space. Everything and Nothing Baloney is nothing but a sausage of pure shit. And I ALWAYS sign red karma. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75246187 Canada 07/19/2017 12:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since you will be using your bedroom to primarily sleep in, I would pick a soothing solid color such as a light blue, light mauve or light mint green or pale pink. I would stay away from loud bright colors like red or orange or patterns or depressing colors like grey and black. They have done studies and people sleep better in cool toned rooms such as blues, purples and greens. Don't have wallpaper in your bedroom. You don't want busy looking wall to look at as you are trying to fall asleep. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75246187 I forgot to add stay away from dark colors such a dark green or dark blue or dark purple because dark saturated colors give the room a claustrophobic feel to it. You want a light cool airy feel to your bedroom. Always go for the lighter color version of what it is your going to pick. |
