Six weeks after incurring a life-threatening gunshot wound at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise has been discharged from the Washington, D.C. hospital where he received treatment.

On Wednesday, MedStar Washington Hospital Center released a statement saying Scalise had made “excellent progress in his recovery” and would begin a period of “intensive” inpatient rehabilitation.

“He is in good spirits and is looking forward to his return to work once he completes rehabilitation,” the hospital said.

Wow, this guy is amazing, he just outlined for the whiny reporters how the sanctuary cities are endangering not only the citizens of those cities but the good men and women of ICE.

He basically said, if the officer can't arrest the criminal alien at the country jail then they have to knock on the door and if they have to do that they've lost many officers in recent years in these operations.

My God what is wrong with congress? Fix this so our men and women of ice are safe for God's sake.

This guy is finally telling the press that if you have entered this country illegal then you have already broken the law and that this law needs to be enforced and the messaging has to be clear, being here illegally means you've broken the law period.

He has done this job for 33 years, man this guy is serious and dedicated and impressive.

Basically said everyone on staff is united in their love of the country and are on board with the President agenda, however, they don't engage in group think, there is healthy discussion and disagreement and that is fine with the President because that brings the best outcomes.

The skinny bill seems to cover more people and that's next to be voted on. CBO told dems that premiums would go up 20% a year.

Where does the CBO get this garbage? If the free market kicks in then the premiums will go down as folks just won't buy insurance if it's not affordable and effective, period.

Shep reported that one of the senators from alaska is somehow indicating that the President is threatening him with retaliation if he doesn't vote with the republicans. He dropped that bombshell and then said there's no confirmation of it. He's just like wolfie.

The President is so current and on point with the comment about MS 13.

msnbc and cnn plus fox are all covering this ceremony to award the medal of honor.

VP Pence introduced everyone, the honorees, from the alexandria police and the capitol police.

He also introduced the two doctors who saved lives and he thanked God for prayers answered.

The President walked in to "hail to the chief". He is making this a very formal and special ceremony. He immediately shook the hands of the officers.

They are American heroes and we salute them! big big big applause.

Recognizing all the personnel from the Alexandria police department and the capitol police aviation unit in a crisis where every second mattered.

He's mentioning the medical teams at Washington Med Star and at George Washington University Hospital. He had Dr. Sava stand up and be applauded and the other doctor too.

Acknowledging Jennifer, Steve's Scalise's wife "and we applaud the strength and courage that she has shown during this terrible ordeal, thank you Jennifer"....

and I'm holding back tears.

This is a great speech. We praise America's law enforcement for being tough, for doing the tough jobs and sometime thankless job, ...... he then went on to say he just wants to thank law enforcement generally.

The Medal of Valor is the nation's highest award for capitol police.

He's putting the medal on Greiner and she's on crutches. And he kissed her on the cheek and spoke to her and she smiled. She looks so nice in her suit with a lovely pink blouse that really looks nice on her.

David Bailey, "without benefit of cover" man, this guy is amazing. And it seems each situation is tailored to the individual person. Bailey is smiling ear to ear, seems like a guy who lights up the room when he comes in.

Nicole Battaglia. She is in her dress uniform. Man she's the one who shot the suspect exchanging gun fire at close range wow.

Officer Alexander Jensen. Wow, he made himself a target so the others could take down the assailant, no cover again.

Wow these folks deserve these medals.

Officer Kevin Jobe. These folks were really brave. How bad this situation really was is coming out during this ceremony even though most of us watched in real time we didn't realize how many people risked their lives like this.

The President spoke to the woman on crutches and I just noticed she's now sitting in a chair. That had to be him getting her a chair.

I hope there is a transcript. The President didn't miss anyone and his exchange with Scalise's wife was very nice and you could tell he was concerned about scalise and his family.

I hope everyone watches the presser from sarah and this ceremony it is truly worth your time.

The ceremony showcased the best of America.
