Which books would make great movies or tv series's .... | |

 User ID: 75323953  Nepal08/03/2017 05:25 AM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have always wanted to see an epic telling of "War of the worlds" staying true to the book, set in 1800's England etc. Also the sequel to it which was also good although a recent addition but carrying on in the timeline of 1800's with same main character etc but some additions like Churchill and Sherlock Holmes no less! Also "A Brave new world" would make a great movie imo, i can imagine it would be epic if done right. A few others are "The city and the stars" and "Rendezvous with Rama" by Arthur C Clarke. Another book/movie maybe spread over 2/3 is "Shantaram".... that is an epic tale waiting to be made into a movie for sure! Maybe even "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" would make a great movie also! So many possiblities with that and it could make an epic tv series for sure! Anyway just my thoughts and tbh i am amazed Shantaram and zen haven't been done already tbh - ESP given that hollyweird are stuck for ideas and obsessed with remaking stuff instead of making NEW blockbusters? At the very least hollywood, make a TRUE to book version of War of the Worlds and its sequel ffs - sick of modern interpretations etc, yeah tom cruise one wasnt bad imo but do the PROPER ONE - please  ^^ written in 1897 and is BADASS if you have never read it! "M for mischeif" sounds good.... just reminded me of a book called "The faraway tree" by Enid blyton - thanks for that!, you just gave me some sweet childhood memories i had totally forgotten about at least 40 yrs ago I will add both to the list, c'mon hollywood, give us some old classic magical tales in movies!! |

In response to a plea to "make that come out sooner rather than later", Freeman reiterated that difficulty in authoring a high quality script is the primary barrier for the film, stating "... the only task you have that's really really hard in making movies, harder than getting money, is getting a script ... a good script". he better crack on imo [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] |
