Colorado Tollroad experience anyone?????
My adult child allegedly used the tollroad. They live not in Colorado. The first letter was months later with exorbitant fines.

In our state, you can call and they are happy just to get the tolls paid when you call.

Colorado wants you to buy a like $40 tag. Considering we don't live in Colorado, we just want to pay the toll.

What is the deal? What real recourse does Colorado have for non residents? Does Colorado have any cooperative agreements with other states?

Please reasonable responses.

Is it C470? They have an express toll service but you do NOT have to get it. It's a reward service.

Its a scam. I too was trapped by a toll road leading to the airport with no signs, no tollbooths, and no explanation until the letter came in the mail. Cameras take a picture of your tag and they bill you afterwards. Colarado had to be working with Oklahoma to get info from DOT. Pay up and be done with it. Just dont forget next time.

I don't know what road they were on. Of course the car is in my name. They said they did not even know it was a tollroad.

I think all the ripped out tollbooths need to be rebuilt so out of state people may pay the petty nuisance so that it may not escalate. In the east, I believe states like New Jersey still have tollbooths.

Colorado does not have tollbooths.

I have only been to Colorado once in the 1990's. After this fiasco, I will NEVER EVER RETURN TO COLORADO.

This was a TRAP.

Had to leave Colorado because I was Stasied within an inch of my life there. The CO transportation authority sold out to a Japanese business entity and they built this toll road system, and their rules are draconian. Taxpayers had NO SAY IN THE MATTER. All business in that state is tampered with and some outright taken over by very powerful mafia interests. If you find out and ask questions (for example about why you cant get work and/or friends any more) you get railroaded right outta there,

Things rotten In DenVER

Colorado has been in the grip of a powerful occult mafia for a very long time now. Government and law enforcement protect this mafia. Citizens are prisoners.

The toll booths are at the Exits.

It is a big scam

if it wasn't for our TAX DOLLARS supporting it

it would be a dismal failure

Colorado is nice, if you don't go anywhere near a city.

Re: Colorado Tollroad experience anyone?????
Thank you for all the responses. Now have an overview of Colorado. Did a search and found many complaints, including the governor being contacted. All complaints went unanswered.

Also I searched COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS, TEXAS COLORADO, recourse for non residents for non payment of tolls, etc.

I gleaned little can be done. My child was told it would not go on their/actually mine...credit record. Not that I even care about that detail. I doubt it would affect any registration in another state.

This is such a SCAM. Wonder if it is even worth fighting over. Plus I really dislike attorneys. Attorneys overcharge & escalate anything into a fear based & fee sucking opportunity.

CHURN & BURN. DEWEY, CHEATUM & HOWE is the usual legal firm.

Plus fighting over anything on principal is usually a losing proposition. Hate paying scammers of any sort.

Non-Resident Violator Compact is used for TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS in 44 States. Makes no mention of unpaid tolls. Hmmm....
