I live in VA and am surrounded by civil war memorials and battlefields. The battlefields are vast and are considered memorial parks now. I have hiked these battlefields for many years and as our area grows these are preserved areas that cannot be built upon. That alone makes me vote for preservation. I don't understand what all the ruckus is about either, a point in favor of planned chaos. I simply don't want the history removed. I have collected a mass of civil war site photography over the last years...means nothing to most but I enjoy it. WTF is going on in Gettysburg??? That's the real history, I love visiting Gettysburg. Make sure to take everything they have. I wish I could add the song that is playing right now... Barcelona ....Response... I can't add because I'm on my phone.
