I too have read a quote similar to this. My recollection is that because of America's mercy and generosity, she would not suffer a war on her own soil but would suffer natural disasters and economic collapse due to sins of impurity. Unfortunately, I cannot recall who said this! But, it is something I have always remembered and taken some comfort in. I would love to find out about who said this and if it was a valid source.
