Remove the filter and put it somewhere to dry out.
It should be OK to drive without the filter for a while

I would much rather donate to someone like you than the red cross that will take most of what they collect and divert it to their own pockets.
During the fires in Gatlinburg a woman brought a truckload of baby diapers and formula to donate to them, the Red Cross told her to sell the items and bring them cash.
A local volunteer overheard that and went ant stopped the woman before she left, turns out they were in desperate need of those items in the shelters.
Red Cross will never get one cent from me.
Hell I would give it to someone like you even if you were going to buy liquor and beer.

During the August flooding last year here in Louisiana many tried to volunteer cooked food and supplies, and all were turned away by the Red Cross. They are an evil self serving entity. I hate them one and all.

Red Cross means, X MARKS THEIR SPOT OF DENIAL of any real help or assistance.

Hate to say it, but

We're in Southeast Louisiana and usually keep the freezers full. But come mid July through mid September we just let them go down and don't restock. We keep a lot of canned meat and non perishables on hand, just in case. I am grateful we have a gas stove and gas grill.

No water or electric yet , a huge flood is about to hit the Victoria area big time (worst flood in Texas history ) a lot of people are gonna lose there homes from the flooding

I am ok I have food and water , plan on helping feed a few neighbors who don't have much to spare ---freezers thawing out

Gonna be a day or 2 until water is restored and could be 3-4 days until electricity -----IF the flood dont screw that up

I've witnessed so looting at a gas station in town

So far no work for a while and my truck is damaged from the water
I don't know how I'm gonna pay the bills we lived pay check to pay check and my wife just started a job a couple weeks ago ( day care is expensive so she stayed home ) now we're both out work for at least another week and bills are comeing still

I did say I don't take hand outs but I'm getting close to swallowing my pride
There are people worse off then me by far so help OTHERS if yall can Texas needs a hand

Things I've noticed are people using generators for TV use
And no one was truly prepared for it

I went to a neighboring town to purchase more food just in case were cut off due to flooding ( could be a week or more until the water is down )

Also there is rumors of a damn in canyon lake busting that would flood a shit tone more then expected

Houston I hear is in rough shape

Going to bed , gonna eat bacon and eggs tomorro ( I have chickens so they give me eggs ) and I got 1 package of bacon gonna make tacos for breakfast

Then sandwiches for lunch ( got all the limbs cut just gotta pile them up, gonna stack the bigger peices for firewood ) wife has a fire pit and we enjoy sitting outside and shooting the shit in winter ( don't get too cold here )

The. For diner i invited a family over that was burning there coffe table for wood to cook ( they made make shift now pit out of bricks to set a pot on )
Hope they can get to me due to flooding , I intend to give them some more food

Bay city will be underwater , they need to evacuate right now cause tomorro they are like the people in Houston , plus I hear they are gonna release water from the dams which will flood us even more .... Especially bay city matagorda county

Absolute bullshit. They don't want to frighten the sheeple. I would estimate the real death toll to be in the hundreds if not thousands by week's end. This is a mass casualty event, make no mistake about that. They will be digging out bodies for.weeks when they are able to access some areas.by ground again. The media always downplays the death toll so that people outside the actual areas of effect continue to go about their business as usual. Literal damage control. This ia a mass casualty event on a American soil. Not to mention the billions of dollars in property damage.

Initial reports of Katrina was 5-6 dead...The problem is nothing is accessible. This may rival and in fact surpass Katrina in death toll.

As a kid hearing "schools destroyed" would make my heart race with glee. As a 43 year old man, it still does!
