MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - An award winning movie watched by generations is being pulled from the big screen amid concerns of being insensitive.

The Orpheum Theater announced it will no longer show 'Gone With The Wind,' a romance movie set in the old south.

In a statement released Friday to Local 24 the Orpheum Theatre Group said:

"As an organization, whose stated mission is to ‘entertain, educate and enlighten the communities it serves’, the Orpheum cannot show a film that is insensitive to a large segment of its local population,” the theater’s operators said in a statement."
