Possible "unrest" coming to Las Vegas in the near future??
Way back when the whole Confederate Flag fiasco was happening and MiniTrue was just beginning to scrub images of the Confederacy from the collective consciousness, two of those images that were targeted for removal were the UNLV mascot, Hey Reb!, and the teams' nickname, the Runnin' Rebel. Not much ever became of this as the mascot was "deemed" not racist and that was that.

Now, even though the Hey Reb! mascot was "deemed" to be not racist, there was enough of a focus on the nickname, with "Runnin' Rebels" being a not so thinly veiled reference to Confederate soldiers on the run from the Union after the Civil War, that the fact that the mascot was "deemed not racist" may not have been enough to permanently quite the calls for the nickname's removal. The declaration of non-racisthood for the mascot may have been just a momentary calming of the storm and when the calls to "end the hate" begin again, the consequences will never be the same.

Fast-forward to today and we see not a debate over whether symbols of the Confederacy should stay or be removed but rather a controlled and coordinated assault on public property and safety. Thus far the South-West has been quite, with the exception of [Arizona's capital] when President Trump spoke there, but I think this time of quite is about to end and Vegas will be the epicenter of AntiFA bullshit in the SW.

During the heat of the summer, anyone who has the means gets out of Vegas for as long as they can, this includes many of the 29,000+ enrollees at UNLV, many of whom are from out-of-state and can leave for the whole three months. Over the next few weeks the fall semester is set to begin and along with it the college football season which tends to bring many tourists to Vegas. Temperatures in the Vegas Valley, now still hovering around 105-107F for daily highs, will soon be in the mid 90s, which translates to about 89-92F when very low humidity is factored in. It's been said the most riots happen when the temperature is between 80-89F.

I have no hard info, no Uncle intel, to pass on; just a gut feeling.

I hope I'm wrong and September/October will come and go without any violent riots in Vegas but I'm not so sure that will happen.

Keep this in mind and if you come across any information related to Vegas and AntiFA please post it here.

Casinos own Vegas. Anything that could hurt tourism whatsoever will NOT be tolerated at all.

The military base is in the North West. Their presence in full combat uniform was considered to be a "training exercise" the last few New Years' Eve. Should have seen the military vehicles lined up just West of the center of the Strip, Las Vegas Blvd, along Flamingo Ave.The road has always been blocked to traffic by 6 pm NYE but this was something else.

UNLV is known as a commuter school with a high per cent of international students, often in their 20's, getting an education in hospitality. Not the type to protest.

The one march that's occurred in the recent past which actually was on the local news was an extremely quiet, peaceful "stroll" down the main strip commemorating those who died in the Orlando nightclub shooting a year ago.

Most of the participants were in their teens and 20's who didn't have to work at 6 PM. Young parents who showed up walked with their kids. All races were represented. Doggie parents were asked to leave their non-service animals at home.

Casinos donated lots of small bottles of water. Marquees announced sympathy with those that died. Yes there was a very low-key police presence with whom the marchers exchanged smiles of appreciation for keeping them safe. Cars honked their approval as they waited for everyone to cross the street.

the people controlling AntiFA don't care about the casinos and would like nothing better then to crash the economy, nationally or locally.

this won't be a planned event with a year to get ready. this will be "spur of the moment" meant to overwhelm. nellis will not be a factor.

these people will not be locals, with the exception of the brainwashed college students that they are able to convince to participate for $15-25/hour, they will be brought in on charter buses and paid to cause havoc. past good deeds won't have any sway in the planning of this event. no one will be singing kumbaya.

Understand your position. You don't know how fast the military from the base, reservists living in Vegas, police force, extra security personnel from casinos who are retired police and retired military, many who have concealed weapons, etc all would show up. They will NOT tolerate any destruction of property whatsoever, loud speeches not confined to UNLV campus, fighting of any kind, blocking the streets, etc. The University of NV, Las Vegas is a few miles East of the Strip.

There was an incident awhile back of a car being driven onto the sidewalk. Never found out if the driver was drunk, drugged, mentally ill, or had evil intentions. Witnesses said they were shocked how fast the entire area was blocked off from traffic. Police and security from everywhere and anywhere quickly swarmed in en mass upon the area.

Also there is a training facility near the strip where any interested adult female can get lessons at a discount on how to fire a gun. So many Vegas residents have come from other states where owning and using a gun for protection is the norm.

In Pahrump which is about a 45 minute drive from Vegas there's a sign on the casino's main front door, "No Guns Allowed Inside." It's posted for a reason.

the "counter-protest"

[link to www.facebook.com (secure)]

Saturday, September 9 at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
this event with your friends

<snip>

ACT for America is an anti-immigrant, Islamophobic, extremist hate-group whose members have close connections with, and whose events frequently involve, white nationalist and white supremacist militias such as the ones we saw in Charlottesville.

Their last event in Syracuse was a downtown rally to express their Islamophobia and expand their recruitment. This rally was met with a determined counter-protest that drowned out their hate with chants of solidarity, songs, and music. Our side outnumbered them, but not by much.

Now ACT for America has called an "America First" rally. Like the "Anti-Sharia Law" rally, this one too is named to barely conceal its disgusting racism. The phrase "America First" is nothing but code for xenophobia, Islamophobia, and imperialist white nationalism.

Ignoring them or meeting half-way across town to talk about "diversity" simply yields our public spaces to these fascists, and it even allows them to grow.

We need to display our solidarity in a way that's public and in their face. We can shut them down by drowning them out with our collective voices.

Yep, that thread linked is really funny, here I heard everything happening in Vegas stays in Vegas. The so called bums, homeless, is in Vegas. Guess you going to get visited by some group sooner or later, they maybe little taller than the little ones that riot.

400,000 people took the time to tell Trump that antifa are communists...crickets, no organizers have been arrested, just street thugs.

This was the 2nd major communist attack from a Bernie supporter this year... but nobody is talking about communism so that means it is being allowed to happen.
