I would put more weight into what Jesus himself says, instead of what Paul said in Roman,


Here is Jesus himself speaking in first person about how to get to heaven,

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Further, we must live good lives; follow the commandments, pray, make sacrifices - like the little children of Fatima did; give up your lunch sometimes, help other people, forgive your enemies, love God above all things, and our neighbour as ourselves. That's it.

By the way, you weren't in heaven before you were born, you were the twinkle in your parents' eyes.
