OP - You're almost right. Your Protestant view of salvation is a little silly, though. The idea that you can accept Christ one time and then have eternal security makes no sense, because you can and will continue to sin after your born again moment. You must continuously recognize and confess your sins and do penance for them.
Salvation is a process, not a one-and-done event. Don't cheat yourself or be fooled into thinking otherwise.
Quoting: Lord of the Sheeple EXCELLENT POST. The 'once saved always saved' cult is dangerous. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70687907 That's false. It's clear in the Bible that we are once saved always saved. We are SEALED by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. To be sealed is to be secured: Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
