So, confess and believe in Christ? Ok. But it begins when it goes beyond verbal and conceptual. Not much happens without meditation, however understood. There should be an inner influence beyond discourse.

And how often, how much time throughout the day does one consciously hold this faith? My point is that the mind wanders constantly to its external affairs. There needs to be some kind of discipline, something, to increase the focus. The heart, as you said, will help bind it, but still, for most people I have doubts they will think much about it afterward. How do we temper the tendencies of mind?
