So, confess and believe in Christ? Ok. But it begins when it goes beyond verbal and conceptual. Not much happens without meditation, however understood. There should be an inner influence beyond discourse.

And how often, how much time throughout the day does one consciously hold this faith? My point is that the mind wanders constantly to its external affairs. There needs to be some kind of discipline, something, to increase the focus. The heart, as you said, will help bind it, but still, for most people I have doubts they will think much about it afterward. How do we temper the tendencies of mind? We pray, we talk to God throughout the day, we keep our eyes on Him and trust Him in all things, We believe His Word, The Bible, We believe Him when He tells us to do something or tells us something. We worship Him in songs and thanksgiving. We give our lives to Him. There will be times when we get weak, but we must always come back to Him and turn our eyes back to Him continually. The more we do this the stronger our faith will become. The Lord is God and the more we focus on Him, the more we will feel and experience His presence in our lives.
