Its okay to do illegal crap if you are "trying to support your family" message
I was watching Marvel's Defenders on Netflix. There is an episode from Season 1 where Iron Fist (whose white) had discovered that a bunch of people had been killed in this dojo. As he and his friend were scoping out the place some people in hazmat suits showed up and were spraying crap on the bodies - apparently to melt them or something.

Iron Fish takes off after one of the hazmat guys and it's this black kid and they get into it in the alley. So Cage shows up, he's a black dude that is bullet proof and those two go at it. Cage is trying to help the black kid and just sees that Iron Fist is trying to knock his block off, never mind the kid was just inside the building cleaning up a murder scene.

The cops show up and hauls off the black kid, Cage and Iron Fist get away.

Later, when they come to know who each other are, Cage dumps on Iron Fist telling him he had no right to go after the kid "because he was just trying to help his family." Iron Fist points out that a whole butt load of people had been murdered and he was on the scene cleaning it up for this secretive organization called "The Hand" who are into all kinds of illegal stuff. Iron Fist wanted information. Then Cage accuses Iron Fist that it's his "privilege" that makes him not see how innocent the kid is because he was "trying his best to make a living for his family." Telling him that he shouldn't be going after the bottom feeders, he should be going for those at the top. (Everybody at this point conveniently forgets that Iron Fist was trying to find out who the black dude in the white suit and hat was who was hiring these kids to do their dirty work for him and why they were all ending up dead.)

So Cage leaves with Iron Fist saying that Cage was right, he should go after the people at the top. I'm like "really"? Was the whole scene made for the sole purpose of telling a white guy that he was privileged and because of that it is okay for the "unprivileged" to break the law? Seriously? WTF. (Oh, and the kicker is, he already knew who the top dog of the organization was.)

Yes, I'm white. My family was very poor and there was many a time when there was no food to be had to put on the table. I had one parent (divorced - no child support in those days) and she worked her ass off to keep a roof over me and my siblings head and she loved us all.

I guess I should feel privileged, I'm pretty sure that despite my privileged status if I was committing a crime I'm pretty sure I'd be in jail, and I would have deserved it.

I am getting soooo very sick of people not taking responsibility for their lives and blaming others because of their lack of motivation, will, and wherewithall. TV shows like this that foster that mind set should be banned.

OP, if you don't want to support people who support breaking the law when convenient. Then don't watch their TV shows or movies.

The comic book code was there for a reason it's kinda a big deal. Most discount it nowadays tho.

I like Marvel. I like scifi shows. They are the only things besides nature documentaries I watch. I'm a fan, so shoot me. I don't watch "reality TV" I don't watch game shows, I don't watch the news. I don't have esp so I had no idea that this was even snuck in there until I saw it. The fact that it was stuck in there like it was shows just how insidious this liberal mindset coming out of hollyweird truly is.
