Not job done, but rather the story is left open ended. With the U.S. crippled in ways previously unfathomable China, Russia, and/or... well really literally anyone else on Earth will be able to easily invade the now former U.S. and take literally anything they want. No former American will be able to really do much beyond various pockets of former Americans trying to fend off multiple full scale military invasions on what is now the former U.S.'s soil.

The U.S. Military will be completely broken and totally against it's own citizens actively doing it's best to subjugate what's left of the American People while what's left of the U.S. Government crumbles into oblivion. So to me, AC, this becomes "So this is how the Great United States of America Empire comes to a close... not even with a bang, not even with a whimper, not even much of anything. It does as living Corruption consumes it from within outwards then the rest of the world as well.".
